How We Work
Quite a few clients don’t ask for testing these days. They rely more on our own Personality Profiles. They want to know if a candidate is smart, enthusiastic and can quickly pick up new skills (also, to be honest, it has been a while since anyone blatantly lied to us on their C.V.).
For some of our clients, however, testing is compulsory. So we have a fully equipped testing suite where we test computer skills, spelling and grammar, visual accuracy, mathematical skills as well as copy and audio typing.
We also make use of specialist psychometric testing tools. These can be uncanny at finding people’s strengths and weaknesses and can sometimes be the ultimate decider when a client is torn between two candidates.
Whenever possible, we’ll go through the job in detail with the prospective employee, letting them know what to expect about the company they’re going to and even letting them know a bit about the person who will be interviewing them.
For us, there not a lot of difference between Temporary and Permanent staff. A candidate is for life, not just for Christmas.
Temps need to hit the ground running and are often called in at short notice. Sometimes we even have temps in our branches having tea and toast waiting for work so we can arrange cover within minutes. Our temps are constantly evaluated by asking our clients for written feedback on each assignment. Temps leave their lives in our hands, they trust us.
Permanent staff are no different as they represent us in the same way. Although we don’t payroll them it’s still all about the relationship and knowing what our candidates want. We believe in Karma; what goes around comes around.
Not only do we assess our staff, we ask them to assess us too. We send feedback forms to everyone we come in contact with, keeping us on our toes.
WHAT WILL GO WELL TOGETHER?
It’s all about knowing what’s going to work. Which candidate will complement which company and vice versa.
We like to think we’ve got an amazing bank of really good quality people, both temporary and permanent that we have worked with over the years. And we think we’ve found the most important ingredient for successful recruitment; honesty.
If we haven’t got anyone suitable we’ll tell you, within hours. We would rather send no-one than send the wrong person. That’s just a waste of everyone’s time.
And we’ll give honest feedback. If a candidate doesn’t get the job we’ll let them know as soon as we can with as much information as we can.
If you’re always honest, you never have to worry about what you said last time.
